To the future me in 2022

Hello? Or should I say “Hi, again”?

Today is the 12th of January, 2021. I came up with the idea to write a letter future myself today. Actually, I had been thinking about it, but you know I am lazy or should I say that we are lazy? Everyone writes this kind of letter before the new year. However, it takes me whole 12 days to start. Haha. I put my effort to write this letter in an artistic way although I have one final exam on the 15th of January, 2 days later. You know the phrase, even giving small while being the poor is far better than giving big after becoming rich. Now, writing takes my precious time of preparing for the final exam.

Do you want to know my today? I think you can just look at the 3P binder if you are still using it. I am very excited to write this letter cuz I have never tried it before. By the way, I am the boy (to whom am I lying, the guy — it would be more suitable to describe myself) who is 20 years 1 month 20 days old studies at GMIT (hopefully, you still study too). This is the end of my fall semester of the junior year. Yesterday I had a final exam of the introduction to mining course, but today I really feel burnout. After reading books on my brand new kindle, I was inspired to spend some time on my planning, vision board, and determining missions (to be honest, I did not do anything from those above, instead of the dramatic list, I chose this way) as well as write a letter to myself.

Oh yes, I have to tell you the reason I am writing this letter. It is to give you the requirements that I wanted to achieve and advice not to forget. Indeed, those are though one to fulfill because yesterday I was filled with setting purpose higher than I could. Things should be done at their best, not the best I can do! So, shall we begin?

First thing first! I wanted to see you as an adult. There are many things to try and do. Sometimes I really think of you and give myself some homework to work on me. You know the video I like the most, ‘How I became an adult’ that is very inspiring, thoughtful, and helpful. There are several fields that I have to focus on such as finances, career, self-image, and experienced-knowledge of maintenance. For now, I have prepared some plans for you. For instance, you need to have specific emergency savings in a bank or something, to have done your professional internship in the best companies, to have great abs in your body etcetera. You have to be skilled in those areas as or more than I wanted. Note that, after reading this letter you must do or make things to show your result. I strongly believe in your commitment. Be creative and be proud!

The second thing is your study. You will have determined your expertise field, planned thesis topic, found supervisors, and organized your broad and specific game plan of applying for a job and doing a master’s degree in Germany. You may have established a relationship between big gig mining and processing companies. The main point is that you must have done rational decisions on movement for yourself. I really expect that from you. No one, but you are responsible for your life so, please seriously take account of this in your mind.

The expectations I begged for you is hard and tough, isn’t it? However, I rely on you. You are becoming the better version of yourself day by day. And here comes something I hope you have already done.

Have you read 27 books by now? Have you made seasonal videos in a project, E-Nomad? Have you taken at least 5 online courses on data science and programming languages? Have you done 4 projects in a range of robotics and automation? Have you taken the German A2 certificate? Have you a dentist checked? Have you enrolled in any volunteer community?

These criteria are made for making you adapt to a productive and successful engineer-life. Therefore, do anything but developing yourself as a productive student and self-developing person. Don’t forget your inner personality should be a kind boy.

The last thing I assumed that is you may have experienced living alone. Your parents may have told you to quit on the idea. But you didn’t give up, did you? How was that minimalist life? What did you find the most challenging and easy one? I had thought of making money and gaining skills as a part-time worker. Maybe you have done it and praise the appreciation to me, right? Did you successfully build the morning-person life? What about Blinkist, will you update your prime membership again?

So far, I have written everything in my mind by now. I hope you had an opportunity to satisfy my expectations. But remember, there must be the time everyone and everything is against you. Or you wanted to quit from something important to you. Believe me, I have experienced some of them. Per challenges, I’m becoming wiser and an adult. Whatever happens to you, keep going as if nothing matters to you.

I would like to know and hear from you. Just drop an email or write something, okay? Be friendly to everyone and stop criticizing them!

Good luck, your younger version 😉
