By what virtues are we surrounded?
There are several moral excellences that you can find in Asian countries especially in Mongolia. When you visit a nomadic family in the countryside, they could show you the generosity at first glance. They would prepare food, make a bed, and give some gifts for you. In most cases, the gift is a food or money that you could use it for your next journey. Somehow this behavior is attached to the nomadic lifestyle, also to city life. When someone visits your home, you will be told or see that householder present something to their guests.
To find the origin of this virtuous behavior, let us imagine life in the ancient age, maybe around the thirteenth century. You are traveling from one province to another. Although you prepared your food, it was not sufficient for more than a month. Hence you have to stop at a household and get ready for the continuation. When you reach the stop, you would be hungry and thirsty. All you need is some break and support from the household. No matter that the owner of a house has the same experience, they would reinstate your body and you would be able to return to your trip. Moreover, you need some food to eat during the rest of the trip, so they would prepare some meal, food, and money which you can use it later to conquer the end of travel.
A lot of people in the old-time had experienced the same situation that you had in your imagination. Even though we assume that is a part of ordinary life, we are learning it from our experiences. We become virtuous when we do something that should be done. If we glue the thought “being a good man” with ourselves, every action that we made is a manifest of virtue.
